An Interview With Nadia Kim, Author of “Love Curse”

nadiapic

How or why did you decide to become a writer?
Well, I had always had an innate talent for writing.  But at the age of 12, still not a big reader I read my first full length novel, Interview with a Vampire. This book changed my life. I became obsessed with vampires, wanted to read all of Anne Rice’s novels and watch as many vampire movies that I could get my hands on. I knew that I wanted to write my own books and live in my own fantasy world of vampires in my mind. This started my journey to become a writer.

What is the working title of your book?
Love Curse

Do you have other published works?
Yes it’s called Reflection

Who or What inspired you to write this book?
Well the idea came from looking at my maternal line. Many of the women for generations had messed up relationships some that ended in harsh divorces. I thought what if it wasn’t just that they couldn’t get along. What if there was a deeper, more mystical reason to the pain that the generations before me endured.

What genre does your book fall under?
Edgy YA-Paranormal Romance and the other one Urban Fantasy/Romance

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
Gosh I get asked this question a lot. I really need to start thinking about it. For Sidney Madison Pettis.

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
Three generations of witches torn by a curse that threatens to ruin their lives.

Is your book self-published, published and/or represented by an agency?
Self Published

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
8 months

What other books or authors would you compare this story to within your genre?
I am really not sure.

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
Well I write about broken women and their struggles with life, making them very relatable to many of us. It pulls at the heartstrings of my readers making them want to know more, hoping for a positive outcome in the story.
